The NetFoundry partner team is excited to be attending DellEMC World this week, where over 12,500 customers, partners, media, and industry analysts will be gathering around the themes hybrid cloud and Digital Transformation. 2017’s event is the first which brings all of the technology in the Dell portfolio together, including DellEMC, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, virtustream and vmware, as Dell continues in its quest to excel and deliver on the potential of cloud.

The combination of assets speaks for itself – spanning infrastructure and software, equipment and platforms, products and services all which are coming together in new virtualized models in this “everything as a service” world.

Moving Beyond Private, Public, & Hybrid Cloud: Multicloud

Dell understands that the world is moving beyond private, public and hybrid clouds to a multicloud fabric, offering limitless smart combinations and choices for enterprises, organizations and governments who are undergoing massive digital transformations.

Dell is bringing the community together including partners like Microsoft. Last week, Dell EMC announced its PowerEdge R730xd rack server running Azure Stack devices (rolled out last year) will now offer “PowerEdge servers and Dell EMC Networking” to the market. According to some reports, Dell’s Azure Stack will come in three sizes, configured to handle 110, 400 and 600 virtual machines on four, eight and twelve servers. The rigs will include “a Dell EMC PowerEdge hardware lifecycle host and three Dell EMC Networking top of rack switches,” according to the annoncement.

While there will certainly be a lot of discussion about this important development at this week’s conference, a bigger promotion may be coming at Microsoft’s “Inspire” conference in early July or the “Ignite” conference in late September. Dell EMC says its hardware “is expected to be available … in the second half of calendar year 2017.”

Last month, we announced NetFoundry has become a member of Dell’s IoT Solutions Partner Program, and earlier in the year demonstrated two solutions we built with Dell and other partners at Mobile World Congress including a public safety solution co-created with V5 Systems and a digital transformation solution including the use of drones, co-created with Wireless Glue.

We are bullish on Dell’s vision, not only for IoT and IIoT, but for pure IT as well, and aligned with their vision for a MultiCloud, not just hybrid cloud world.

Last week, our head of Product Management and Marketing, Rodney Holmes, posted on the big and brave new world of MultiCloud connectivity, and the importance of rethinking traditional networking (MPLS, VPN, private circuits, and more), and using software to leverage the most resilient network in the world – the Internet.

At the event, you will find our team engaging with our peers, Dell Technologies leaders, and the broader Dell EMC community, enjoying the over 500 topics in technology, IT, coding and modern operations, and having some fun in the Village and Solutions Expo, enjoying new product introductions, interactive demos, innovations in virtual reality, digital games and more.

Every successful enterprise in the future will be not only “mobile first” and “cloud first” but “digital first,” and we anticipate an epic gathering of a multitude of people this week and will be sharing the most exciting ideas we come across.
