Your role

You are responsible for NetFoundry’s marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and differentiation. This is a hands-on role which encompasses traditional marketing, product marketing and product functions.

You own major aspects of “customer development” (in the lean startup definition of customer dev), including defining customer problems and corresponding NetFoundry solutions.  You will ensure synch between product definition, product marketing and GTM.

NetFoundry is a distributed company and is considering candidates globally for this position. Candidates in Charlotte, New York and the Bay Area will have an advantage due to proximity to key customers, partners and NF team members.  Work travel will vary depending on location – in the 25% to 50% range for most locations.

Your responsibilities

Define NetFoundry’s positioning and messaging based on an expert understanding of NetFoundry’s capabilities, target markets, segments and target buyer personas.

Define and execute marketing Campaigns need to be well instrumented for instant statistical visibility, correlation, analysis and continual improvement.

Develop marketing collateral, including white papers and web copy.

Work with internal NetFoundry teams to ensure coordination and messaging consistency between collateral produced for product releases, sales and marketing

Organize and promote outreach efforts such as software developer events, partner events, webinars and tradeshow participation.

Work with NetFoundry ecosystem partners to define combined marketing& messaging

Foster relationships with industry analysts and journalists and ensure NetFoundry coverage is aligned with NetFoundry’s desired messaging and marketing

Help define go-to-market plans including overall GTM strategy, specific launches, segmentation, pricing and packaging, sales and support training and customer training

Understand NetFoundry customer needs and challenges as well as they do. Need to constantly meet with prospects and analyze what they say and why they are saying it.

Work with sales to ensure successful market introduction of new features and maximize customer adoption and customer value.

Valuable skills and experience

5+ years of marketing experience with success in bringing new products to market and managing effective campaigns for products sold to enterprises and mid-size businesses

Knowledge in related fields such as zero trust networking, cloud native networking, NaaS, SD-WAN, VPN, managed security services, IaaS, IoT, edge compute and networking, API-based products, SDKs

Strong interest in disruptive technology and a history of new technology evangelism and recent startup experience

Success in marketing products sold as a managed services and offered as open source software

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills and both desire and aptitude to produce product collateral

Desire to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, software startup environment
