Tata Communications announced that its internal incubator program, Shape the Future, launched NetFoundry.

An Enterprise Can Now Build Its Own WAN With NetFoundry

NetFoundry offers a network platform-as-a-service (NPaaS) that enables enterprises to do without private circuits and build their own WAN so they can optimize application delivery of cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) services.

Using application programming interfaces (APIs), web consoles, and DevOps tools like Jenkins and Ansible, enterprises can deploy and manage software-defined networks (SDN) in the same way they deploy virtual machines (VMs).

Deploying NetFoundry networks is similar to deploying microservices in that developers can integrate NetFoundry networks on a per application or data flow basis, the company claims.

Tata Communications’ Shape the Future internal incubator program helps its employees, partners, individuals, and startups develop new business ideas within the company through hackathons and contests. Shape the Future claims to be responsible for internally crowdsourcing over 500 business ideas and has incubated seven of those ideas.
