We are constantly looking to evolve, to be more innovative, to become even more agile, and to provide our customers with the most robust connectivity solution in the marketplace. However, we can only do so much on our own. Our partnerships enhance what we offer while providing more versatility, features, and capabilities. Today, on the heels of our recent webinars with NodeWeaver, we want to discuss how this partnership enables instant, zero trust, software-only mesh networks between edge nodes.

NodeWeaver’s Zero-Management Cloud Fabric

Before we dive into the benefits of the partnership and the customer challenges NetFoundry and NodeWeaver solve, we want to give some background information about NodeWeaver.

NodeWeaver is a zero-management edge cloud fabric, integrating storage, networking, and virtualization in a software-only full-featured hyper-converged infrastructure solution that is optimized for the edge and built to deliver full datacenter capabilities on nearly any x86-based hardware. It has an easy to use interface and a management system that automates most tasks and streamline activities.

NodeWeaver’s autonomic engine removes all the management tasks; configuration, adding, or removing hardware, replacing components, even with heterogeneous hardware. The integrated optimization engine dynamically adapts the environment to reach any user requirement, with no need to explicitly provide commands.

Together, NetFoundry and NodeWeaver enable instant, zero trust, software-only mesh networks between edge nodes for unmatched agility.

“NetFoundry complements perfectly our vision of scalable, self-managing computing at the edge by turning the edge into a universal ether; an unlimited and transparent network fabric that connects all the individual NodeWeaver instances and the virtual resources created on top into a secure network,” said Carlo Daffara, CEO of NodeWeaver.

“NodeWeaver and NetFoundry allow for the creation of a single, unified computing and network layer, that goes from the smallest IoT nodes up to datacenter and cloud infrastructure.”

NetFoundry & NodeWeaver Webinar Series

We have had the opportunity to host two webinars with NodeWeaver over the last couple of weeks. The first webinar was business-focused while the second had a technical spin. Our most recent technical centered webinar, discussed the seven things you need to create a NetFoundry network. These seven things are listed below.

  1. NetFoundry automation builds and installs the network control layer
  2. Users install NetFoundry gateways into public and private clouds or on premises
  3. NetFoundry automation builds the “middle mile” of the network
  4. Applications and/or Subnets are exposed as service behind gateways
  5. Distribute clients
  6. Connect services, clients, and/or locations with AppWANs
  7. Console monitors, logs all activity, alerts, and alarms on all NetFoundry instances and AppWANs

Once a NetFoundry mesh network is created, NodeWeaver can instantly deploy the mesh networks between edge nodes, which are driving IIoT. Now, NodeWeaver customers can spin up software-only AppWANs directly between their environments over existing Internet connections.

This helps IIoT customers solve 3 challenges while protecting critical systems from outside threats. Limiting access to apps with micro-segmented, least privilege access AppWANs integrated into Identity and Access Management (IAM), abstracting critical systems away from the Internet using bi-directional and outbound-only dark networks, and harnessing multi-dimensional security architectures for data-in motion protection.

More to Come From NetFoundry & NodeWeaver

As our partnership with NodeWeaver continues to evolve, we fully anticipate on hosting more webinars. The webinars offer both business and technical minded insight into how both platforms, combined together, provide a powerful solution for you. So, keep an eye out for our next webinar series.
