Managed components
The Managed Components section provides an operational view of the infrastructure powering your network. While other sections focus on network logic and policies, this area allows you to manage the lifecycle and health of the underlying hardware and cloud instances.
The section is divided into three primary tabs: Network Controllers, Edge Routers, and Allocated IPs.
Network controllers tab
The Network Controllers tab displays the central "brains" of your deployment. Every network requires at least one controller to manage the control plane, although high-availability (HA) environments may feature multiple controllers.
Use the search bar to filter controllers by name or status.
Network controllers table
The table provides detailed metadata for each controller instance:
- Name: The unique identifier for the controller instance.
- Status: The current state of the controller (e.g., PROVISIONED).
- Provider: The cloud hosting provider (e.g., AWS).
- Region: The geographic deployment region (e.g., us-east-1).
- Version: The current software version running on the controller.
- Domain Name: The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) used for controller access.
- IP Address: The public IP address of the controller instance.
- Host ID: The unique ID assigned by the underlying infrastructure provider.
Edge routers tab
The Edge Routers tab in Managed Components focuses on the operational health and specifications of your routers. Unlike the Routers view in Core Components, this view is optimized for infrastructure tasks like resizing or verifying software versions.
Use the search bar to filter routers by name, attributes, or hosting provider.
Edge routers table
This table details the specifications for each router in your mesh:
- Name: The identity name assigned to the edge router.
- Attributes: Any tags or attributes applied to the router for policy routing.
- Status: The operational state of the router.
- WSS Enabled: Indicates if WebSockets are enabled for the router.
- Type: The deployment type (e.g., AWS).
- Registration: The registration status of the router with the controller.
- Host Size: The instance size of the underlying virtual machine (e.g., small, medium).
- Version: The Ziti version currently active on the router.
- IP Address: The public IP address assigned to the router.
- Domain Name: The FQDN assigned to the edge router instance.
Allocated IPs tab
The Allocated IPs tab tracks the pool of static IP addresses reserved for your network infrastructure within your cloud provider accounts.
Use the search bar to filter by region or specific IP addresses.
Allocated IPs table
The table lists the status and ownership of reserved IPs:
- Region: The geographic region where the IP is reserved.
- Provider: The cloud provider account where the allocation exists.
- IP: The specific reserved IP address.
- Allocated Status: Indicates if the IP is currently attached to a resource or merely reserved.
- Expire Date: The date when the reservation is set to end, if applicable.
